Sometimes you just lose a craftsman in the Gambia. The guy who is supposed to make and install the doors and windows is nowhere to be found. Sometimes he picks up the phone, but then he never shows up where we are supposed to meet him…After he unsuccesfully tried to reset the business boundaries, it seems he just decided to quit. Problem: he still has some of the materials we bought and doesn’t seem to want to give them back… Let’s say doing business is pretty different here, and you’ll need a lot of patience and understanding.  Although these things are not new to me, they never seem to get less annoying. The sad thing is, he really is a good carpenter. The good thing, I guess: he’s not the only one in the Gambia.
