To be able to make the window and door frames, we had to remove some of the tires. They were originally placed in two rows above the windows and doors, but had to be removed to make the construction stronger. This leaves some bigger gaps, that have to be filled. The team is now filling them up layer by layer, every day a little bit.
In a couple of days, the team covered the tire walls. Inside and outside. After this, the storage room/ kitchen will be built on the left side of the veranda. This places the kitchen in a room outside of the house. A little strange to us, but it’s a regular design in the Gambia.
